I'm a big fan of final fantasy music. not just FFVII but all the others as well. cept for the final fantasy with tidus...Fucking pussy....
anyway my favorites were "Lunatic moon" from zircon and sixto sounds. "Under the rotting pizza" Lulza - materia junkie, and "Beggining of the end" - bLiNd. But i'd have to say that "Stone eyes" from shnabubula was the best, it conveyed alot of sadness but also power from Red XIII's Theme.
There has been so many Final fantasy games...But god i can't wait for the new one coming out....

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think FFX had the best soundtrack. I think it's at least partly due to Junya Nakano contributing to it. It has a lot of great music like Fog Sea, Underwater Ruins, Fantasy, Guadasalam, Summoned, This is Your Story, the Sight of Spira, Silence Before the Storm, to Zanarkand, Sprouting...fuck, it's got a lot of great music.
I still think FFVII had some great stuff, though, like Anxious Heart, Makou Reactor, Underneath the Rotting Pizza, and Flower's Blooming in the Church, but for the amount of songs on the soundtrack, there aren't a whole lot that stand out to me.
I'm not even that into the Final Fantasy series, but the music is great.

Yeah, Final Fantasy is pretty consistently impressive with their music.
I don't know which one has the best music, but I do know I was quite disappointed with Final Fantasy XII's music.
I was reasonably disappointed with Final Fantasy XII in other ways, as well.
